Paytaca, a Filipino-led financial technology (fintech) firm utilizing BCH payments, announced that it will be conducting a series of Blockchain Tech Workshops entitled “Coding Smart Contracts in Cashscript” in seven universities and colleges in the Philippines.

About Coding Smart Contracts in Cashscript

This series of workshops will be led by Paytaca developers. CashScript is a high-level programming language for smart contracts on Bitcoin Cash.

The partner schools are located in cities where the firm already has an active merchant presence, according to Paytaca.

Paytaca in PH Through the Years

In April 2025, Paytaca partnered with Hiverooms, a Philippine startup offering a smart booking platform for hotels and rentals, allowing users to book 38 active properties and pay directly with BCH.

In March 2025, the fintech firm launched the beta release of its Payment Hub, allowing online merchants to accept BCH payments directly without intermediaries.

In an interview with BitPinas in August 2024, Paytaca CEO Joemar Taganna confirmed that over 80 merchants in the Philippines, plus one in Hong Kong, are accepting BCH payments via Paytaca’s point-of-sale app.

In March 2024, Paytaca launched its Marketplace and Peer-to-Peer Exchange to the public at Robinsons Malls in Tacloban City.
