Startale Group announced on March 26, 2026, the second close of its Series A round, securing $50 million from SBI Group, Inc. to total $63 million. This follows an initial $13 million investment from Sony Innovation Fund in January 2026 to bolster onchain infrastructure for finance and entertainment.
The funding accelerates the development of Strium, a blockchain for tokenized securities, and the JPYSC stablecoin co-developed through a 2025 joint venture. Startale Group aims to serve over 80 million customers within the SBI ecosystem while expanding its Superapp for seamless consumer access to digital assets.
Looking ahead, the firm plans to scale its settlement framework for Asian capital markets and integrate fiat-to- crypto solutions for institutional yield distribution. These initiatives focus on vertical integration across Ethereum Layer 2 networks and real-world asset adoption.
“Through the deep collaboration with SBI, we will accelerate the adoption of tokenised stocks, centered on Japanese equities and JPY stablecoin, this year,” said Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Group.
