What is Otherside?

Otherside is an upcoming Web3 MMO metaverse game, primarily built on ApeChain, and available on PC.

Developed by Yuga Labs, in partnership with Improbable, MSquared and Animoca Brands, the game blends elements from typical MMORPG experiences with the benefits of Web3-powered metaverse titles. Players will shape and own the world around them, where their NFTs are playable characters and over 10,000 people will be able to interact in real time.

Designed to continuously evolve with new minigames, player-owned assets, features and more, Otherside has lofty ambitions to become the definitive metaverse title – and create an all-new standard for MMO games.

What is the Otherside ODK?

The Otherside ODK is a piece of software that allows players to generate their own assets for use within Otherside.

As shown in the video, this includes maps – but also allows players to create characters, outfits, tools, structures, and also minigames for other players to experience.

On top of creating assets to be used within Otherside, the ODK allows players to sell these assets via the in-game marketplace. With the game powered by ApeChain, the $APE token serves as the primary currency of Otherside, used within the marketplace and in any areas in which players can buy items.

Interested parties can now sign-up for early access to the Otherside ODK, allowing them to get familiar with the software prior to the game’s wider release.
