Axie Infinity: Atia’s Legacy Playtest 2 Launches April 8, Features ‘Risk-It-All’ Dungeon

Axie Infinity: Atia’s Legacy, an upcoming massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set in the Axie universe of Lunacia, has announced that its highly anticipated Playtest 2 will officially launch on April 8, 2026.

Following the success of Playtest 1 – which ran from September to October 2025 for 1,000 selected community members – Playtest 2 was originally slated for mid-March but was shifted to April to allow the team more time for development and feature integration.

What to Expect in Playtest 2

According to the developers, this second testing phase introduces several major gameplay shifts and high-stakes mechanics designed to gather critical player feedback before a wider public release.

Key additions include:

• Risk-it-all Extraction Dungeon: A punishing new game mode where players who lose all their HP will lose their equipped items and face the potential of permanent Axie deletion, according to online platform Funjible Games. Because of the extreme risk involved, Sky Mavis is utilizing Playtest 2 to test the feature and gather community feedback before fully implementing it.
• Single Axie Control: This marks a significant departure from classic Axie Infinity mechanics. Instead of managing a squad of three Axies simultaneously—where strategy dictates card sequencing and team synergy—players will now directly control and command a single Axie in battle.
• Expanded Arsenal and Enemies: The update brings five new weapons and introduces new boss encounters to provide higher challenge levels for testers.

How to Join Axie Infinity: Atia’s Legacy Playtest 2?

The playtest is currently in its pre-registration phase. Similar to the first phase, online sources indicate that access is expected to be strictly limited.

1. Visit the official pre-registration page at https://axieinfinity.com/pre-register.
2. Supply a valid email address. It is recommended to use the email address associated with your Ronin Wallet. Developer Sky Mavis will send all updates and official invites exclusively via email.
3. Wait for the official invitation to arrive in your inbox.
4. If selected, actively participate and provide the necessary feedback to help the developers refine and improve the game.

What is Axie Infinity: Atia’s Legacy?

Under development since May 2024, Sky Mavis described the game as a “New Game, Same DNA.”

Axie Infinity: Atia’s Legacy is promised to offer dynamic progression, where a streamlined leveling system will increase as the player’s squad increases, unlocking new abilities and gear across tiers from Common to Legendary.

To promote the game, the Top 200 referrers will also share part of a 25,000 AXS reward pool
