If your audiobook backlog is getting longer and longer, this new Audible deal is a great excuse to start making a dent in it.
Right now, eligible Prime members can get Audible Standard for just $0.99 per month for four months. That’s more than 80% off the usual $8.99 monthly price, with Amazon calling this Audible’s “best deal of the year.”
With an Audible Standard membership, you can select one audiobook each month from Audible’s entire collection and listen to it for as long as you remain a member. You can also purchase additional audiobooks at the full price if one book per month isn’t quite enough to satisfy your listening habit.
There’s no long-term commitment, so you can cancel at any time. Just remember that the membership will automatically renew at the regular price of $8.99 per month after the promotional period unless you cancel. If you don’t want to continue at full price, set a reminder on your phone for the day before renewal.
One thing to remember is that not all audiobooks remain accessible after you cancel. Any titles you’ve purchased outright with cash or credits are yours to keep, but you’ll lose access to books from the Plus Catalog and any audiobooks you selected as part of your Audible Standard membership. These will show with a lock icon in your library and become available again if you resubscribe.
